Home Activities to Encourage Eye Teaming

Eye teaming, or binocular vision, is a visual efficiency skill that allows both eyes to work together in a precise and coordinated way. Good eye teaming allows sustained, comfortable vision and is the basis for depth perception. We have complied a list of activities to encourage eye teaming in children:

Here are some tips that can be used to reduce eye strain and make computer work more comfortable:

1. Position your computer monitor five to nine inches below the horizontal line of sight so that when you look straight ahead, you look just over the top of the monitor.

Visual and Fine Motor Development Activities

We have put together a list of 49 activities that help to promote vision development and fine motor skills:

1. Roll out playdough with a rolling pin (regular way with hands positioned on top of the handles but also do it with hands positioned under the handles.
2. Pull playdough apart and squeeze back into a ball.
3. Dribble a basketball. Practice counting at the same time.
4. Circle all of a selected letter in a given paragraph of the newspaper.

World Sight Day Challenge

World Sight Day Challenge

From October 1 – 11 our office is collecting donations on behalf of WSDC, to help provide eye care to people in developing countries. A donation of $5 allows a full eye exam and glasses for someone in need. You can help us contribute in office or online at GivingSight.org
